An Overview of Mylio’s Interface

Mylio’s interfaces are designed to be easily navigable and highly functional. Both the Desktop and Mobile interfaces allow you to access the vast majority of Mylio’s features. Depending on your device and screen size, Mylio will automatically display the appropriate interface. Knowing your tools and where to find them is integral to becoming successful in using Mylio. Below is a diagram of Mylio’s basic interfaces, and a short description of each feature.

Desktop Interface

  • Progress – If Mylio is working on something, you can see what it is here. Syncing, updating, face tagging… they’ll all be listed here.
  • Your Images – The main view in Mylio. This section is always open and displaying your memories front and center.
  • Dashboard – See more information about your Devices, tagged People, and other customizable statistical views.
  • Import Button – Opens the import menu and allows you to import from your machine, Facebook, Flickr, cameras, SD cards, and more.
  • Toggle Rating Bar – The Rating Bar allows for you to easily tag photos with star ratings, color labels, and flags. You can even pin your “Photo of the Day”.
  • Add New Folder – In folder view, you can use this button to create new folders for your photos. In album view, this creates new albums.
  • Share/Export – Share your selected media to email, Flickr, Facebook, or to a printer.
  • Rotate left– Rotate the currently selected image left. These commands will only be present when a photo is selected. 
  • Delete – Delete a photo from Mylio and the file system on all devices.
  • Show Mylio Clipboard – Opens the Mylio Clipboard, which allows for a temporary storage space while moving photos around in Mylio
  • Actions – Shows of a series of actions that you can take on your current selection. This includes selecting, moving, deleting, and adding to an album.
  • Toggle Details Panel – Opens and closes the Details panel. (Possible rename to Info panel?)
  • Details Panel – Mylio’s Details panel allows you to view and change details about your selection.  (Possible rename to Info panel?)
  • Edit – Make your best photos look even better by using Mylio’s Edit section to make a small or major adjustment to any photo.
  • Map – View location data or assign a new location to a photo or set of photos.
  • People – Tag the people in a photo to separate them into automatic folders in People view.
  • Info – Detailed metadata about your images. Edit keywords, captions, title, and copyright information. (Dependent on Details panel Change)
  • View – Alter the view settings for your library and see additional settings.
  • Search – Search through your photos and folders to find the perfect memory.
  • Filter – Sort your currently viewed folder or album with custom criteria.
  • Toggle Face Tag/Batch Tag – Use Mylio’s face detection software to quickly find the people that matter most in your library

Mobile Interface

  • Navigate back– Go backwards to the previous folder, album or image you were looking at
